Crape myrtle

Artist’s Note

There is a saying in the East like this.
“Even if the flower is red, it will not last 10 days,
and even if the power is good, it will not last 10 years.”
But last summer, crape myrtle had bloomed for more than 100 days,
enduring the scorching heat of summer.
If you compare it to the human world,
crape myrtle is like a 100
year dynasty.
Crape myrtle! Flowers that rule summer!
I can feel the dignity of the dynasty in her.
