Ranunculus Ⅱ - Jennifer Lee | Light, Memory, and Emotion

[Ranunculus Ⅱ]
Artist’s Note
There was no other way to express you,
so I picked up my brush.
I didn’t want to judge or define you
within the narrow limits of the word beautiful.
Before my eyes unfolded your mesmerizing presence.
The futile struggle of existence sent you to me
as a fleeting miracle,
and I hold onto that memory,
refusing to let you go.
In this moment,
there exists only you and me.
We dream of eternity,
yet you keep fading away into the light.
And when that distant day comes
when even the smallest tremor of my heart
can no longer remember you,
will you come back to me once more
and stay quietly by my side?
